The final installment of ART JAMS will be a creative festival free and open to the community from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 18 at Riverside Park, rain or shine (in the event of rain, tents will be up). Visitors can join the dynamic HOT School master teaching artists who will be working together to rally up a Mob Flash Dance, Puppets, a mural parade, banners, face painting, instruments, crafts, and more. It is a celebration of all the artists and community has created together in the six previous ART JAMS, part of the Creative Placemaking Project, and all are welcome to an array of activities, open to all ages.
CREATIVE PLACEMAKING for the Riverside Park Neighborhood is led by New London Landmarks, with the City of New London and a coalition of Riverside Park Conservancy, the Neighborhood Alliance and all who care about reconnecting this area of New London with the City. This project is made possible by a grant from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and the Office of the Arts.
