Will Evans dream of beginning a solo career is a bit closer to reality. The Barefoot Truth band member raised $10,455 to fund a solo album.
“I really want to do this album for the people who have really enjoyed the music I've written for Barefoot Truth,” Evans posted on the fundraiser page Indiegogo. “The folks who write emails to us about how one of my songs helped them through tragedy or a difficult time in their life. I've got a whole bunch of new songs for people who need a remedy; I just need the help to get started. “
According to Evans each song requires about three days spent in a studio and everyday in the studio costs about $500. For a 10-song album that’s about $15,000 not including printing costs.
Evans has hoped to raise $10,000.
Barefoot Truth, composed of Evans, Andy Wrba, Garrett Duff, Jay Driscoll and Wayno, formed in 2003 and announced their farewell tour in July of 2012. The band made it to number 10 on theiTunes Top Rock Album Chart in September 2011.
