Bank Street Cafe Putting On Sandy Hook Benefit

Five bands will play at New London venue with proceeds going to Newtown fund

A New London venue will put on a benefit concert to raise money for a memorial fund established in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown.

The "Rock Benefit for Sandy Hook" will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday at the Bank Street Cafe. The show is open to people ages 21 and up and admission is $10 at the door. All proceeds will go to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, which was established by the United Way of Western Connecticut and Newtown Savings Bank to provide support services for families and community members affected by the Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The performers will be T-Ray Taylor from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Architect Rufus Band from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., Slateface from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., The Real Scar Tissue (a Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band) from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sinner's Inc. (formerly Brewzer) from 11 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
