The New London Youth Talent Show is looking for performers for its third annual event, inviting people to tryouts scheduled on two days next week.
The tryouts will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the New London High School. The event is open to New London County residents between the ages of 10 and 25. The talent show will take place at 6 p.m. on March 23 at the Garde Arts Center.
"This talent show continues to grow in purpose and style," said Andrea Messenger, the show's oversight coordinator. "This year we will have the pleasure of incorporating local regional performers into our mentor-as-coach process and the performance itself. Finding new ways to inspire our audience and grow the area's talent is our passion. We are excited to share this joy with our audience and look forward to another sold out show!"
Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign an application for the show, and those under the age of 12 must have a parent or guardian present during the audition. Participants should bring their own music and will be photographed as part of the application process. Auditions will take place on a first come, first serve basis and all participants will be notified of their acceptance by Dec. 10.
The Talent Show Planning Committee is also looking for adult volunteers and college interns to assist in running the show. Anyone interested in helping my contact the committee through the talent show's Facebook page or by phone at 860-444-4405 to leave a message with their name and phone number.
