Travelers Walk MS Hits The Pavement On Sunday

Teams will set out from Mitchell College for annual event to battle multiple sclerosis

Walkers will stroll along a route through southern New London on Sunday for the 16th annual Travelers Walk MS event.

The walk raises funds for multiple sclerosis research, and aims to raise $1,450,000 this year. It is presented this year by North American Power.

Walkers in the New London event can check in for registration at 8 a.m. at . The walk itself starts an hour later and includes two-mile and five-mile routes. The shorter route walks along Pequot Ave. before returning on Ocean Ave. and Gardner Ave. The longer route continues along Ocean Ave. to before returning to the college.

Walkers may bring donations in envelopes to the event. Prizes are awarded to those who reach a certain fundraising level, and anyone who raises $100 or more will receive a free T-shirt. Rest stops with snacks and water will be set up throughout the route and participants will receive a lunch at the end of the walk.
