Andrew Longhenry, of Colonel Landscaping of East Lyme, works to plant flowers at the main entrance of Lawrence + Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.
Longhenry said 283 petunias are being planted outside the main entrance and emergency room entrance.
"Pretty much all the entrances are going to have some nice, pretty flowers," he said.
