Not A Good Day For Rail Commuters

Power problems in the Bridgeport area have caused delayed to MetroNorth's New Haven line.

Another power problem has caused delays for commuters riding MetroNorth's New Haven line today. At about 7:20 a.m., the MTA sent out the following alert:

"New Haven Line Service is currently experiencing delays of up to 20 minutes due to a disabled train and power problems in the vicinity of Bridgeport. Customers should anticipate combined trains and crowded conditions." 

As of 8:30 a.m., MetroNorth trains on the New Haven line were delayed by up to 40 minutes. Service from Stamford to New York, however, appeared to be on track.
