New London Winter Parking Ban Takes Effect at 1 p.m. Today

A parking ban went into effect for New London today at 1:00 p.m. but the city has canceled the ban for downtown. 

The parking ban will is in place elsewhere in the city, however, to allow Public Works and Police crews access to keep New London streets clear of snow as quickly as they can without delays.

There is free parking for New London city residents at the Water Street Parking Garage. As usual, winter parking regulations apply. Cars need to be parked on the odd side of the street.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory until 5 p.m. today. Snow should taper off by the first part of the afternoon rush hour but snow and low temperatures are likely to create icy, hazardous driving conditions.
