This Saturday, the Back to School Block Party returns to New London to offer school supplies to children preparing to return to classes on Wednesday. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the , organizers from the and Phi Sigma Beta will offer free book bags (700 of them), food, and activities. Open to students from kindergartners up through college freshmen, the goal of the event is to "meet the educational needs of the children in our community, by equipping them with the tools necessary to receive a quality education."
In this week's featured video, the church shares scenes from the 2011 event on its official YouTube channel. This one was held just before Hurricane Irene , but it looks like everyone was still having a good time between the arts and crafts, football, haircuts, and other activities.
