New London Tube: Meadows Brothers At Sailfest

Brothers perform a song at Sailfest in New London

The title of this song by the Meadows Brothers is "A Train Makes A Sad, Sad Sound." Hopefully not too sad, since most of New London has to live within earshot of that sound and this show may well have encountered an Amtrak whistle blast or two.

The video shows the duo wrapping up their set at Sailfest, where they were one of the bands at the Hygienic Art Park stage. The event brought in a long list of performers to perform at not only this venue but also the City Pier, Custom House Pier, and Parade Plaza.

The Meadows Brothers is the spot-on name for siblings Ian and Dustin Meadows of Chester. They list dozens of influences for their music, summing it up as "homegrown acoustic folked-up countrified American rock 'n roll. Or something like that." Their ReverbNation bio also says they're both still in their teens, with Ian at age 19 and Dustin at age 16.

The Meadows Brothers are frequent guests of the New London music scene, although they're not slated to return for awhile yet. If you're interested in seeing them, the next show will be at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday at Chamard Vineyards in Clinton. For something a little closer to home, check out their performance at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library.
