National Coast Guard Museum Launches Official Website

An official website has been launched for the National Coast Guard Museum.

The website at CoastGuardMuseum.org was launched to "inform, engage, and communicate about the design, development and programming" for the site, the National Coast Guard Museum Association announced. The museum will be located on the New London waterfront.

The website was developed by Quinn & Mary Marketing, a New London-based Regan Communications company.

“This is a wonderful addition to our development, fundraising and marketing efforts,” said John Johnson, treasurer of the National Coast Guard Museum Association. “Quinn & Hary did a masterful job listening to our goals and objectives and then translating them into this comprehensive site. It gives us a solid online presence for the new museum.”

The site includes a history of the Coast Guard, design plans and fundraising details related to the museum, and a way to send messages to the board members of the National Coast Guard Museum Association.

The association is in the midst of an effort to raise $1 million by Labor Day. Minimum donations of $1,000, $5,000, or a three-year commitment of $15,000 brings a donor into the "Barque Eagle Society" and gives them a limited edition painting of the tall ship by artist Tony Falcone. The association was successful in its first fundraising effort, to raise $100,000 in 100 days.

The association's goal is to break ground on the project on May 15, 2014.
