Keep Your Shovel Handy—More Snow Is Coming

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for New London. A total of 2 to 4 inches of snow is predicted, with snowfall heaviest by midmorning on Tuesday.

Another snow storm is on the way. Although we might see some snow fall overnight, the main storm isn't expected to hit until Tuesday just in time for the morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for New London County from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Snowfall is predicted to be moderate by midmorning, locally heavy at times, and start to taper off by the afternoon commute to snow showers. The National Weather Service is predicting a total accumulation of two to four inches.

The bulk of the snow will fall between peak morning and the afternoon drive times, however, so it remains to be seen whether schools will declare a snow day.

So far, the only cancellation is at the Department of Motor Vehicles, which has canceled all morning road tests for December 17. Road tests are expected to resume at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. However, DMV officials will further evaluate road conditions Tuesday morning. You'll find updates on the DMV website at ct.gov<https://ctmail.ct.gov/OWA/ct.gov/dmv>/<ct.gov/dmv>dmv

Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date. Call toll-free 800-842-8222.
