Daily Five: Stargazing, Jazz Concert, Belgium

Five things to know for April 19

1. The sun takes a hiatus today, with cloudy skies and rain, wind, and possibly thunder in the evening. Sunrise is 6:02 a.m., sunset is 7:34 p.m. The temperature hovers between 51 degrees and 58 degrees.

2. Hopefully the forecast is a bit off and the skies will clear tonight, as Connecticut College is offering a free stargazing event tonight in honor of National Astronomy Day. From 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., residents can visit the Olin Observatory to take a look at celestial bodies and hear from guest speakers. Stargazing will take place if the weather cooperates.

3. The Garde Arts Center welcomes Kenny Werner and Benjamin Koppel for a jazz concert in the Oasis Room tonight. Tickets are $35.
