2. Surprise! The Board of Education meeting is on a Wednesday this week instead of its usual Thursday date, starting at 7 p.m. at the Science and Technology Magnet High School. The agenda includes discussion of possibly relocating the Student Transportation of America school buses from Fort Trumbull to New London High School, acceptance of several grants, and a 2012 fiscal year audit.

3. The latest New London history lecture series offered by Sally Ryan is getting into more modern times. The latest one takes place at 1 p.m. today at the Public Library of New London, and anyone interested in attending is asked to call ahead to confirm a spot.
