Five things to know for March 12

2. The Finance and Audit Committee has taken a look at both the central services and school sides of a $40.4 million budget proposal for the New London Public Schools’ 2013-2014 year. Now they want to hear from you. A public hearing on the budget starts at 6 p.m. tonight at the Science and Technology Magnet High School, with a committee meeting to follow immediately. The full budget is posted on the district’s website.

3. At the same time, the Public Library of New London hosts a SCORE workshop on the management of business finances. There’s still time to register at this event listing.
