Five things to know for May 26

1. A nice day returns today, with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 75 degrees. There's a chance of scattered thunderstorms in the evening. Sunrise is 5:21 a.m., sunset is 8:11 p.m.

2. You’ve waited for it all year…well, the local music fans, anyway. The third annual Whalie Awards come to the tonight, starting with a red carpet at 6 p.m. and performers and award presentations kicking off at 7 p.m. There is a $10 suggested donation.

3. The crew teams from Yale University and Harvard University face off in their on the Thames River, heading downstream this year. The Friends of Riverside Conservancy hosts a party at in honor of the occasion starting at 12:30 p.m., while the first race sets out at 3 p.m.
