Daily Five: New London Government, More Government, Eisenhower

Five things to know for January 17

1. Mixed clouds and sun today with a high temperature of 41 degrees. Sunrise is 7:11 a.m., sunset is 4:46 p.m. Much colder temperatures overnight, with a low of 22 degrees.

2. Three Board of Education committees will meet tonight at the Science and Technology Magnet High School to discuss their future roles and responsibilities. The Executive Committee meets at 5 p.m., the Facilities and Design Committee at 6 p.m., and the Finance and Audit Committee at 7 p.m.

3. And if a trio of back-to-back school board meetings isn't your thing but you just love municipal stuff (I know some of you do) there are a couple of other options today.
