Five things to know for January 25

1. A little warmer today, with a high of 26 degrees during a partly cloudy day. The trade-off? Snow! And an overnight low of 18 degrees. A few inches of accumulation is expected overnight, with flurries tapering off on Saturday morning. Sunrise is 7:06 a.m., sunset is 4:56 p.m.

2. Hygienic XXXIV is here! Get started on the festivities with a choice between The Hootenanny musical performers at The Commoner or the Screening Room short films at Hygienic Art, each starting at 7 p.m. You can also check out a series of performers giving a preview of the upcoming Rock Fix when they start a set at 10 p.m. at Oasis Pub.

3. Ali McNamara’s From Notting Hill with Love is the latest selection in the Time Out Book Club at the Public Library of New London. Copies are available at circulation and the group meets at 10 a.m.
