Food collection boxes will be available in all New London municipal buildings throughout March, with all donated items to be given to the Gemma E. Moran United Way Labor Food Center.
The food drive will begin on Friday and run through March 28. The Public Works Union AFSCME Local #1378 will also hold a food collection at the ShopRite parking lot on March 30.
The drive will collect non-perishable food items as well as monetary donations. Dime Bank will also be assisting with collection efforts.
The center distributes food to local non-profit agencies. Suggested donation items include tuna, meats, stew, vegetables, fruits, pasta, rice, instant potatoes, dried beans, coffee, peanut butter, fluff, jelly, and baby food.
