Tea at the Huguenot House -- June 1

In the 1920s, the stone house at the corner of Jay and Hempstead was a popular tea house run by two local women.

Join us there on June 1 (the house is now part of the Hempsted Houses museum) and you can again enjoy tea and refreshments. You'll also see some unusual teapots with collector Irma Streeter of Groton, and explore the story of the Old Huguenot Book Shelf & Tea House.

Streeter's collection includes more than 200 teapots; she will be sharing some of her favorites.

The tea begins at 1:30. Admission is $15 and includes both of the historic houses at the site. Reservations are required. Email hempsted@ctlandmarks.org or call 860-443-7949.
