Noank Foundry Screens The Curse of Micah Rood - Free Showing

The Noank Foundry Artists will celebrate In the Pink, the CT BREAST Health Initiative, on Saturday, October 19th from 5:30 - 8:00 pm with a film screening of the CT legend The Curse of Micah Rood. In addition, there will be an reception for CT artist, Beth Pite, whose vibrant pastel creations are all about color, energy, and essence.

An 1888 NY Times article confirms that Norwich area farmer, Micah Rood, was suspected of splitting open the skull of a peddler and stealing the jewels he was carrying. The corpse was found beneath an tree whose apples, from that date forward, had drops of red throughout the fruit. The filmmakers will be on hand for questions before and after the 7:00 pm showing.
