Make-A-Wish® Connecticut 2014 “Evening of Wishes” Gala to honor Wish Kid Sierra on March 29th at Mohegan Sun

Make-A-Wish® Connecticut will again celebrate its annual “Evening of Wishes” Gala this year on March 29th at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Connecticut chapter has granted over 2,300 wishes since its inception in 1986.

The evening will feature music, dinner, dancing and exciting live and silent auction items to bid on.

Joe D’Ambrosio, Voice of the UConn Huskies, Talk Show Host on WTIC NewsTalk 1080 & Sports Anchor at NBC Connecticut will be joined by Kerri-Lee Mayland, NBC Connecticut Anchor as co-hosts this year.  Over 600 people will gather to honor the event’s special guest, Wish Kid Sierra of Madison Connecticut. At six years old, Sierra was diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition, an experience that can be devastating, especially to a child. But the power of a wish can turn despair into hope, fear into strength, and sorrow into joy. Sierra’s wish, to visit “Harry Potter Land” in London, gave her the hope to believe in a future. Sierra’s future is one filled with dreams to be a star and to change the world. As the star of the “Evening of Wishes” Gala, guests will witness first-hand Sierra’s dreams become a reality and watch as she begins her journey to change the world, one wish at a time.

A special thank you to our Presenting Sponsors Mohegan Sun, First Alliance Lending, the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council and Cindy & Rob Citrone.

About the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Connecticut, Inc.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Connecticut grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  Wish-come-true experiences can do wonders by providing a much-needed break from lengthy hospital stays and medical treatments. They give back to a child what a serious medical condition can take away—the chance to simply enjoy being a kid. Wish kids choose something that will inspire happiness, and allow them to spend precious time with their families. The Connecticut chapter has made over 2,300 wishes come true since its inception in 1986.
