Businesses Invited to Take the 100x100 Challenge

Through the end of June, United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is inviting local businesses to each donate $100 to United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. The 100x100 Challenge is spearheaded by 2014 United Way Campaign Co-chair Brian Orenstein, Chief Executive Officer of Charter Oak Federal Credit Union.

New gifts from businesses that have never donated to United Way before will be matched by Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, up to $10,000.

“We’re very proud to lead this year's 100x100 Challenge,” said Orenstein. “Our local business community is very generous, and I'm confident that we'll raise the monies needed to help make a difference for many here in southeastern Connecticut.”

Participating businesses will be recognized in a full-page newspaper ad in Spring 2015 and invited to a reception at Charter Oak's new headquarters in Waterford.

“Too many families are struggling to make ends meet,” noted United Way President & CEO Virginia L. Mason. “But by working together and each giving a little, we can collectively make a big impact on the challenges facing people in our community.”
