Citizens Bank is supporting H.O.P.E. Inc.’s 2012 Home Repair Workshop Program. H.O.P.E. (Housing Opportunities for People) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to developing affordable housing for low- and moderate-income individuals and families in southeastern Connecticut. The program seeks to help first-time home buyers successfully maintain their new homes. The workshop features classes taught by a local plumber, electrician and carpenter. Each class has a focus on simple home repairs like fixing a leaky pipe or changing an electrical outlet to help homeowners avoid the expense of hiring professionals for small repairs. With the ability to make repairs, participants in the program have an easier transition from tenant to homeowner.
