The New London Irish Parade Inc. is proud to announce that the selection process for the 2012 Irish Parade Grand Marshal has been completed. The parade committee decided this year to have the parade lead by Mayor Daryl Finizio and Coast Guard Academy Superintendent Rear Adm. Sandra L. Stosz.
St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. Plans for the grand parade celebration in New London have been in the works for over a year. The parade this year on Saturday March 17 will be larger than previous years when St. Patrick’s Day fell on a weekday.
Marie Friess-McSparran, President of the New London Irish Parade, Inc. states that a Saturday parade will allow many more to participate in the parade and in the excitement of watching the parade.
The New London Irish Parade, Inc. has a committee of volunteers that work hard all year long to make the event the huge success that the community enjoyed over the past 4 years.
