Milford, Conn. (August 29, 2012) – Starting September 1, Connecticut public charities, non-profit and community organizations will be eligible to apply for a grant from the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation.
Assistance is primarily provided to education, job training, and the arts, with grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Recipients of DeLuca Foundation grants have supported animal rescue organizations, child health and literacy programs, child abuse prevention, and many other community outreach programs.
Last year the foundation awarded over $122,000 in grants and scholarships to nearly 180 Connecticut organizations, including:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut
- Bridgeport Public Education Fund Inc.
- The Community Culinary School of Northwest CT
- Channel 3 Kids Camp
- Special Olympics CT
- The Literacy Center of Milford
- Pet Protectors Inc.
- Other local associations
Proposals will be accepted from September 1, 2012 with a deadline of October 8, 2012. Decisions will be made on or before December 31, 2012, with notification and checks mailed in January 2013.
