It's back! But no Redemption Island! Booo! I guess they decided the One Guy Keeps Winning Only To Totally Lose In The End wasn't really effective storytelling. I for one might miss it. This season's crop looks particularly shallow and narcissistic based on the previews. "As the contestants are divided into teams -- men versus women -- they learn that they must share one beach." Ooooo - one beach. Nice!

American Idol, 8 p.m., Fox
I confess. I watched 3 1/2 minutes last week. I wanted to see the part where the girl fell off the stage. Speaking of metaphors, I found it to be so formulaic and predictable that it wasn't even worth waiting for the tumble. Zzzzz. Bye Idol. Thanks for the memories.

Well, they are pulling these specials together faster than you can say "Hell to the no." I read somewhere that Glee will have the Whitney tribute episode ready week after next! Amazing!
