Jim O'Malley, chatting with reporters and other visitors prior to a , said there was a bit of irony in the location for his biotech startup Myometrics. O'Malley is a former Pfizer scientist, said Myometrics is located in a building once owned by Bill Von Winkle, one of the plaintiffs in the Kelo v. City of New London eminent domain case.

The small building is located within view of the structures that remain at Fort Trumbull after Pfizer's development plans there fell through, and it neighbors a former Pfizer building as well. The three-story office building at 194 Howard Street was once leased by the pharmaceutical company but now stands vacant, another commercial offering put on the market by .

According to the , the building was constructed in 1985. The includes the structure in its Fort Trumbull Municipal Development Project, with NLDC proposing a cluster of offices around the entrances to the peninsula. The building also housed the engineering company Vitro Corporation not long after its construction.

The property is quite valuable, with the latest records showing it was appraised for about $4.9 million and assessed for $3.4 million. The realtor's flyer is a little outdated, noting that 194 Howard is "available July 2008." Their last lease offer was $17.50 per square foot, with each floor measuring 15,000 square feet. And you get use of the 200 parking spaces as well.
