Daily Five: Yeager Master

Five things to know for February 13

1. A bit breezy, but still on the warmer side for winter today with sunshine and a high temperature of 38 degrees. Sunrise is 6:47 a.m., sunset is 5:18 p.m.

2. The city government stays busy today with a potpourri of meetings tonight. At 4 p.m., the Finance Committee meets to discuss the municipal budget. At 5 p.m., the City Council has a special meeting with state legislators, followed by a 6 p.m. meeting with Rear Admiral Sandra Stosz of the Coast Guard Academy on the role of the academy and cadets in New London and a 7 p.m. meeting on bringing New London High School up to meet ADA requirements.

3. That’s where I’ll be, but if you want to try out something a little more fun than observing city government there’s always the skating rink at Parade Plaza. Public skate times today at 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
